Naming proposals

Aerial view of housing division The Registrar of Geographic Names receives naming proposals from naming authorities to name or rename a feature or road, name a locality or amend a locality boundary. To understand the process to submit a proposal, refer to the Naming rules for places in Victoria, Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities –2016.

You can check the status of a proposal - the date it was received, when the Registrar considered the proposal, when it was gazetted in the Victoria Government Gazette or when it was registered:
